Justifying a Framework Choice on Organizational, Not Technical, Grounds
An engineer on your team argues against using Semantic Kernel for a new internal tool: "Its 'plugins' and 'planner' are just tools and an agentic loop with different names — there's nothing it does that LangChain or a hand-rolled loop can't." Your company is a large enterprise already standardized on .NET and Azure, with several other internal teams already using Semantic Kernel for similar tools.
Is the engineer's technical claim correct? Given the organizational context, how would you respond to their argument, and what would you actually recommend?
